This policy explains what information goffer (the "service") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the service you agree to the practices described here.
We collect the information you provide when you create an account, such as your email address and, optionally, a username and avatar. We also collect data generated through your use of the service, such as practice activity and preferences like your chosen theme.
We use your information to provide and maintain the service, authenticate you, personalize your experience, communicate with you about your account, and improve and secure the service. We do not sell your personal information.
We use strictly necessary, httpOnly cookies to keep you signed in and to maintain session security; these cannot be read by client-side scripts. We also store a small number of preferences in your browser's local storage, and this marketing site stores your cookie choice in a cookie of its own. We run no analytics and no advertising cookies. Our Cookie Policy lists every item by name, what it is for, and how long it lasts.
If you sign in with Google or GitHub, we receive basic profile information from that provider — such as your email, name, and avatar — to create and populate your account. We do not receive your password. Your use of those providers is also subject to their own privacy policies.
The sign-up form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that the request comes from a person rather than a script. Cloudflare receives request metadata and may set its own storage in your browser on that page. This check is necessary to keep automated sign-ups out; the service is not usable without it.
We share personal information only with service providers who process it on our behalf under appropriate confidentiality obligations, when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of goffer and its users. We do not share your data for third-party advertising.
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and hashed credentials. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can manage much of your profile from your account settings, or contact us to exercise these rights.
We send product updates and tips only if you opt in. You can change this preference at any time in your settings or by following the unsubscribe link in any such message. We will still send essential account and security notices.
The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
We may update this policy as the service evolves. When we make material changes we will update the "last updated" date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Please review this policy periodically.
Questions about this policy or your data can be sent to privacy@goffer.dev.
